Defaqto Camera Illustration

August 19th, 2012

Just Finished a commission to illustrate a set of  images for an animation & advertising campaign for Defaqto.
They needed some images to  illustrate their  ‘1 to 5 Star Rating’ feature which covers the features in every financial product on the market, ranging from 1 Star (basic), to 5 Star (the most comprehensive).’

1-5 Star Camera Illustrations - Disposable to Top of the range Camera.

1-5 Star Camera Illustrations – Disposable to Top of the range Camera.

I illustrated all the parts of the animation which showed a woman coming into a shop wanting to buy a camera. She looks all confused as she is faced with too many options. But it all gets clearer when the cameras are separated into their 1 to 5 Star Ratings. 1 Star (basic throw away camera) and 5 star (top of the range camera with all the bells and whistles).

More features Illustration

June 27th, 2012

Asked to illustrate some objects to give some weight to a companies campaign message which would be mainly on a poster campaign but also an animated short. The message was to show they had lots more features than an ordinary company so i had to show this with the objects they gave. To demonstrate this they chose a snazzy vacuum cleaner with a dull dustpan brush, a lively cocktail / pint of beer and an electric drill / screw driver. Here are the finished images.

Vacuum cleaner & dustpan brush

The trickiest illustration was the vacuum cleaner. The first rejected vacuum cleaner looked too old and the second was too space aged. They were happy with this one.

After adding many more cocktail accessories they were happy with this…

More buttons the better…

Fundraising thermometer design

March 8th, 2010

Been working on a fundraising thermometer. One with goals and one with just the amount raised. It works by pulling the amount/total from a text (xml) file. Handy because it’s easy to update an xml file with new totals and flash doesn’t need to be opened again.
This was an old Flash thermometer so can’t show this online anymore, because Flash was discontinued, but here’s the original designs (with the Great Ormond Street colour palette). It was the top left one that was chosen.
